Easy-Cheat Scrumptious Scones

Yummy, easy, stress-proof and DELISH! This is a perfect winner for a crowd when you are too exhausted to brush your teeth. Popular, easy, affordable and if you pair it with some special flavoured cream, grated, matured cheddar cheese and strawberry jam – MOREISH for DAYS. Did I mention this is easy?

INGREDIENTS

Scones

  • 1 Kg Scone Mix
  • 200 ml Canola Oil
  • 5 Extra-Large Free-Range Eggs and 1 For Brushing
  • 500 g Cultured Buttermilk

Toppings (The Choice is Yours)

  • Cheesecake Cream: 250 ml Sour Cream, 250 g Cream Cheese, 2 TBSPS. Vanilla Essence, ½ Cup of Icing Sugar – Mix Until a Cream Consistency and Well-Combined.
  • Jams
  • Grated Cheese
  • Butter

HOW TO MAKE IT:

#1) Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

#2) Break five eggs (separately) pouring them into a medium mixing bowl. Add the cultured buttermilk and then the oil and mix.

#3) Sift the scone mix over the wet ingredients.

#4) Mix with a fork until combined (don’t over mix).

#5) Prep two sets of muffin pans; spray with non-stick spray or add a little flour to ensure the scones come clean away.

#6) Spoon the scone mix into the muffin pans.

#7) Mix the final egg and brush this on/over the tops of the mix.

#8) Bake in oven for 20 minutes (or until the tops are golden).

#9) Yummy and enjoy. 😊

  1. This looks yum! I had a convo with a girl form the UK this week about whether the jam should go before the cream, or the cream before the jam when preparing your scone. Apparently there’s debate in the UK about which goes first, and the answer is – it all depends where you come from. 🙂

      Thanks for the comment. Oh, my word – I had no idea I could be annoying communities with my placement of cream. How interesting! I will certainly be more mindful in the future. The other debate is whether you should roll and cut the scone dough (my theory – who has got time for that)!
